A&R

Stands for Artist and Repertoire, aka talent scouts: Usually a higher level job. A&R people are the liaison between labels/record companies and the artist. Their duties include-finding talent, matching artists with songs, setting up an artist with a producer, and developing the talent of the musical artist, band and/or songwriter.
