Audio DictionaryBitrateIn regards to audio file compression, the Bitrate refers to the amount of compression applied to the uncompressed digital audio file. Higher Bitrate = larger size, but more dynamic range. Lower Bitrate = smaller size, but more compression and thus, less dynamic range. The highest commonly available bitrate is 320 kbps. In review, the higher the bitrate, the closer the encoding is to the original source of music. |
