Mixing "In The Box"

The term “In The Box” (ITB), often used as mixing ITB; or working ITB; refers to working inside of your computer’s respective audio editing or music recording/sequencing software... Essentially, working In The Box - means working within the music software you are using to produce music on your mac or pc. It is not relative to any specific platform or music production software; rather, it is used as a general term to explain working with digital audio using the computer.
